Cheap Comfortable Couches
The couch is the main focal point of the room. It should be sturdy, stylish and comfortable. Finding a sofa that has all three qualities isn't easy if your budget isn't as high.
We talked to two interior designers to help us find the most comfortable couches that aren't expensive and last for many years.
1. IKEA Sofa

This is an excellent choice if you want a low-profile couch that feels solid and sturdy. The sofa is soft, comfortable and comfy, it's easy to imagine a whole family snuggling up on it (it even comes in an armchair version). The sofa is also adaptable and can be paired with any decor. It looks great in virtually any color of leather or fabric.
The sofa isn't as flashy or modern as some of IKEA's other alternatives, but it does have a classy look that rivals some more upmarket competitors. The low banana-shaped arms and ample cushions give it a look that's equal parts elegant and traditional. It's also very affordable and comes in fabric and leather upholstery options.
What I find appealing about the IKEA website:
IKEA offers a wealth of information on the front page. I find this to be extremely useful. Prices and names appear in the first place. They also provide dimensions to aid in determining if the furniture is suitable for your space. The materials and construction are also clearly explained, which is an added benefit. They make use of a mix of solid wood, plywood, and particleboard in many of their frames which helps reduce costs while maintaining strength. They also specify if the cushion filling is made of feathers or foam which can impact how firm a sofa is. They could go further and explain how different components are constructed however they do a fantastic job.
2. World Market Brynn Feather-Filled Loveseat
World Market's online presence has an international bazaar vibe that can be a bit overwhelming. There's plenty of visual stimulation and information to process, especially when you're focusing on finding the perfect sofa.
Thankfully, the site lets you focus on furniture by having a dedicated "Furniture" section on the top navigation bar which directs you to couches. You can then filter by style, color, and upholstery material.
Many World Market sofas are made using performance fabrics that are resistant to staining, which is ideal for families with children or pets. The company offers a broad range of cushion comforts, including foam and. fibrefill.
Keep in mind that most World Market couches require assembly. This can be a good or bad thing, depending on your level of skill. On the plus side, the brand's website shows each sofa from multiple angles and in close-ups of the details like stitching and legs. So, you can get a good picture of how the couch will look like in your home before you commit to buying. The site is also very transparent when it comes to showing delivery information. It will inform you how long it will take for your sofa to arrive at your home. In-stock items are usually shipped within a few business days. You can also opt to pick up the item in your local retailer if you want it even quicker. The site accepts credit cards from major banks, but does not provide third-party financing such as Affirm and Klarna. This is a disappointment for those who would like to spread their payments over a period of time. But, keep an eye on promotional offers that may include interest-free or deferred for a specific time.
3. Capasa Sofa
A khaki green version that Good Housekeeping calls a "truly extraordinary duplicate" of the cloud couch This sofa is simple to assemble and has deep seats. The sofa is also reasonably priced. It is important to be aware that cushions that do not have a core could sag over time. Morse recommends looking for a cushion with feather or fiber wrapped around the foam core.
Pro feather/feather stuffings are luxurious, soft and give the sensation of a soft touch. They also breathe and regulate temperature. Cons - They're expensive and cause allergies for certain people. Additionally, they may require frequent fluffing to keep their shape.
4. Maxwell Ryan Co-Created Loveseat
The sofa is where you will spend most of your #netflixandchill time. It is also among the most expensive pieces of furniture you've got in your home. So, it's worth taking the time to purchase a sofa you love and that you can afford.
Burrow, which was founded by Apartment Therapy founder Maxwell Ryan with backing from the prestigious accelerator Y Combinator aims to become the Ikea of sofas that fold. The company offers three different designs of the sofa (a loveseat as well as a chair and sectional). The design is reminiscent of traditional European designs, but it is also more modern and minimalist due to the slimmer frame rails.
Its primary selling point is its ability to fold flat for storage. The real game changer is that, unlike other furniture that folds, this can be put together by a single person without tools in about 20 minutes. The company's aim is that when you purchase a Burrow couch, you can be sure it will fit in your home and last for 10 to 20 years. This is a significant improvement over the Ikea disposable model.
